  • If you are not a member of the YoungEAAP you can become one:
  • If you are under 35 years of age or10 years after finishing your PhD

Young Scientist Session

The Young Scientist Session on Wednesday afternoon
14.00–15.45 How to design your career for the livestock industry? - 3 Speakers from the industry give short presentations and then a round table discussion follows.
15.45–16.15Coffee Break
16.15–17.00 EURACCESS presentation - Sandra Vidović gives a presentation on the activities of the EURAXESS platform and a short information about Marie Curie actions.
17.00–18.00 Social Meeting of Young Scientists – Informal meeting with drinks/snacks. During the meeting Isabel Ortigues gives a very short talk on ANIMAL and peer-review processes.

Speed Dating

A speed dating event will take place on 29th of August (Tuesday) during the lunch break (lunch included). Take your chance to network with specialists in the fields of

  1. Precision Livestock Farming,
  2. Health & Welfare,
  3. Pig Production and
  4. Cattle Genetics.

For each field one representative from the industry, one from an ongoing EU project and one from a research institute/university will be happy to “date” you. You will be in a group with two other young scientists and learn about ongoing research activities, can interact with industry partners and discuss about job opportunities. After three rounds of 15 min, you have met all representatives of your selected field.

If you are interested, just send an email to stating your preferred topic. The number of places is limited!

Open Positions as Young Scientist in EAAP Study Commissions and Working Groups

Interested in becoming active in the EAAP? Starting this year, each Study Commission and Working Group will elect one Young Scientist in the management board for the term of three years. So, please have a look at the different Commissions and Workings Groups of EAAP to get an idea! This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to network and get into touch with the work in an international association!
